Mikey - October 2009 Pet and Adoptee of the Month

We are happy and sad to announce that Mikey is the Winter Animal Hospital Pet and Adoptee of the Month for October 2009.

Mikey is a Boxer mix, approximately two to four years of age.  He has been neutered and is up-to-date on his vaccines.  Everyone at Winter Animal Hospital spoke highly of Mikey, indicating he was a little shy (though that may have simply be due to his being there).

I was slow in posting the pictures I took of Mikey in October even though I knew or at least hoped they might possibly help to find him a home.  I called the other day to see how he was doing, and was told he had been taken to one of the shelters for possible adoption.  They could not say to which shelter he had gone.

Mikey was dropped of at Winter Animal Hospital for a check-up a couple of months ago by, what was assumed at that time, Mikey's owners.  Only problem is that Mikey's owners never came back, and the contact information they provided was bogus.

I do not claim to be an expert, but if you study Mikey's eyes, it appears to me you can see the fear and saddness while at the same time still looking for his masters (even if they abandoned him).  Only a dog could show such devotion.

We all wish Mikey well, and hope that he finds a loving home.
