He's a great bed fella.)
Otis, pit
bull terrier. Otis was the semi-official greeter at the
Winter Animal Hospital when it opened. If you had driven by
Winter Animal Hospital several years ago, you may have seen the sign out front stating
"The most spoiled dog lives here". That was Otis!
Position: Greeter, Staff and
Animal Support
Years of Service (at Winter Animal
Hospital): Otis was born on February 14, 2000 (Valentine's
Day) and worked/lived at the Hospital since puppy hood.
Family: Winter Animal Hospital
Staff and Friends
Personal Interests: Back and
tummy rubs, eating, greeting staff and visitors, checking out the
animals that visit (and their caregivers).
Comments: Otis came to Winter
Animal Hospital thanks to a local kennel that raised pit bull terriers
and felt that Dr. Winter needed the dog for protection at the hospital
(thieves had been breaking into vets' offices to steal
drugs). Larry, the kennel's owner dropped off Otis for his
puppy shots and checkup as he typically did for all of his new
puppies. When the staff called to let him know that Otis was
ready to be picked-up, Larry informed them that he didn't have any
puppies at the hospital. Thus Otis had a new home and loving
family! Now he continues his good fortune, living the retired life in the care of Trish!
